•Digital Education is a system which will impart as well as
improve all three main components of learning namely contents, learning
methodologies and teaching methodologies.
•The
advent of digital technology has completely transformed the education sector in
India and created an entirely new template for imparting education.

Digital Education includes e-learning.
e-learning is an
inclusive term that describes educational
technology
that electronically or technologically supports learning and teaching. The pioneers of
e-learning, advocates that the "e" should be interpreted to mean
"exciting, energetic, enthusiastic, emotional, extended, excellent, and
educational" in addition to "electronic." This broad
interpretation focuses on new applications and developments, and also brings
learning and media psychology into consideration. It
is suggested that the "e" should refer to "everything, everyone,
engaging, easy".
Digital Education Imperatives
•Learning
on the go – Facilitating students to study at their own convenience anywhere anytime.
•Technology
is leading to a revolution in the way we learn. It is helping solve the
problems of scale, quality of education, and learnability of the student.
Teachers can now reach the full classroom through digital screens, enabling
each child to get the same base content. Student engagement is higher as it
combines various instructional styles. And each student gets exposure to
world-class education, something that was just not available in a chalk and
talk approach.
•“Technology
makes the teaching-learning process very easy and interesting,”
•Private
schools across India today see technology as an imperative.
Digital
Education-Emerging Paradigm
•Digital
education has taken over the traditional chalk and blackboard method in a big
way.
•As
per estimates that close to 1 lakh out of India's 2.6 lakh private schools in the country have invested in some
form of teaching technology.
Educational
institutions are now utilizing technology to make teaching a more interactive
and simple affair. Virtual classrooms, e-lectures, web conferencing and online
courses are part of the plethora of options that digital education provides.
•Learning at the speed of need – Access
to online learning material & digital content through various devices
•Today, due to hi-tech network and
multimedia, the education sector has emerged as a fast developing field.
Another prominent result of the use of technology in education is that there is
an extensive change in the teaching and learning methods, styles, and content
across many schools in India. Today, students use a unique form of technology
called cloud technology wherein they can easily submit and review their
assignment regularly. When a school includes such facilities in a digital
learning environment, the classroom becomes much more comfortable and welcoming
to students.
Pre-Requisite
of Digital Education
•The
set up requires high speed internet connection which needs to be on even if
classes are not being held.

Professional Development of Teachers is a Pre-Requisite
•Digital classrooms
promote innovations in teaching methods, improving capabilities of
teachers and students alike.
•Ongoing professional
development is the key ingredient in the success of technology-driven education
in classrooms. Training teachers in technology and retraining them in
delivering effective content with the help of that technology is a
pre-requisite to modern digital style of education; the approach has to be
need-based and continuous.
“No
Technology Can Replace Teachers”
•Technology is
instrumental
•Technology make
education/learning easy – any time, any where and every where.
•Transaction of
curriculum is made easy.
•Increase conceptual
clarity due to multimedia.
•Involves more than
one senses- multisensory
•Makes learning
illustrative, interactive and
experiential.
•However, it is not
the replacement of Teacher.
•Magic lies with the
teacher/facilitator.
Digital
Education - Trends
•Young
students today are usually surrounded by computers, iPads and mobiles,
bringing the same technology into the classrooms makes them feel easy and
acquainted.
•Video-based
learning makes education engaging, entertaining and exploring. The interactive
preface of this segment ignites learning with a pedigree of learning out of
leisure with creativity, fun and entertainment on cards via the wonderful Apps,
podcasts, videos, interactive software, e-books and online interactive
electronic boards. Children are excited and operative with interest to manage
the showcase via their intelligence, exploring the weak techno skills of
teachers and assist them in public with pride and honour and recognition. Now
the classes are student-friendly, student-operated and info-packed.

is not only playing a crucial role in the field of information and
entertainment, it also helps create and design tools and applications for our
educational system. Technology in education help advance a child' learning
through thousands or tablet and Smartphone app, which make the whole process
more interactive, entertaining and effective. Apps play a crucial role in
developing cognitive skill that is critical for learning among children.
